Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)

A Good Life Counseling does NOT provide MADD classes. Please contact MADD or visit their website for information on how to sign up at MADDVIP.org.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving, commonly known as MADD, is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to ending drunk driving, supporting the victims of these violent crimes, and preventing underage drinking. Founded by a mother who lost her daughter in a drunk driving accident, MADD has been the forerunner in advocating for stricter impaired driving policies since 1980.

MADD's work spans a broad spectrum of activities. These include providing emotional support and legal assistance to victims and their families, educating the public and policymakers about the dangers of drunk and drugged driving, and advocating for stronger laws and penalties against impaired driving.

Through their 24/7 support line, online resources, and local chapters across the United States, MADD provides a vital lifeline to those affected by drunk and drugged driving incidents, helping them navigate through their trauma and seek justice.

Additionally, MADD spearheads numerous campaigns and programs aimed at public awareness and prevention, such as the Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving, PowerTalk21, and Walk Like MADD events. Their educational initiatives also extend to schools and youth settings, emphasizing the importance of sobriety and responsible behavior.

MADD's ongoing mission is to provide a voice for victims, advocate for policy change, and promote safe and sober driving, making our roads safer for everyone. Support their cause, be a part of the solution, and take a stand against drunk driving.

CLASS UPDATE FROM MADD

MADD Colorado’s Victim Impact Panel (VIP) program has been available as an online option throughout the pandemic. Although this option was a necessary alternative during that time, I am asking you to reestablish the precedent that people are required to attend an in-person victim impact panel instead of our online panel. Our in-person victim impact panel cannot be replicated online. Our in-person victim impact panel program is also a tremendous and empowering resource to our victims who are granted the opportunity to share their stories, honor their loved ones and strive to ensure other families will never have to endure a tragedy and loss similar to the ones they have experienced. The in-person victim impact panels also cost less at $50, than our online panel which is $65. However, starting in January 2023 our in-person fee will increase to $55 based off the consumer price index for Denver-Boulder. I do understand there will be special circumstances when someone needs to attend online or if our program is not available in your area. That is why this option will continue to be available. But for the most part people should be able to attend in-person like they did before March 2020.

VIPs are held throughout the state. The schedule can be found on our website at www.maddvip.org, or by calling 800-426-6233.

This program is life changing and makes our roadways and communities safer.  If you have any question, please contact me at  lindsey.nicholson@madd.org or by phone at 303-425-5902 ext. 6853. I would love to hear from you. Thank you for all you do and thank you in advance for promoting our in-person panel program.
