CLASS UPDATE FROM MADD
MADD Colorado’s Victim Impact Panel (VIP) program has been available as an online option throughout the pandemic. Although this option was a necessary alternative during that time, I am asking you to reestablish the precedent that people are required to attend an in-person victim impact panel instead of our online panel. Our in-person victim impact panel cannot be replicated online. Our in-person victim impact panel program is also a tremendous and empowering resource to our victims who are granted the opportunity to share their stories, honor their loved ones and strive to ensure other families will never have to endure a tragedy and loss similar to the ones they have experienced. The in-person victim impact panels also cost less at $50, than our online panel which is $65. However, starting in January 2023 our in-person fee will increase to $55 based off the consumer price index for Denver-Boulder. I do understand there will be special circumstances when someone needs to attend online or if our program is not available in your area. That is why this option will continue to be available. But for the most part people should be able to attend in-person like they did before March 2020.
VIPs are held throughout the state. The schedule can be found on our website at www.maddvip.org, or by calling 800-426-6233.
This program is lifechanging and makes our roadways and communities safer. If you have any question, please contact me at lindsey.nicholson@madd.org or by phone at 303-425-5902 x6853. I would love to hear from you. Thank you for all you do and thank you in advance for promoting our in-person panel program.
