What is A Good Life Counseling?
We are a counseling agency located and licensed in Colorado by the Behavioral Health Administration. We specialize in DUI classes. We also offer more counseling services which can be found on our services page.
What DUI classes do you offer?
We specialize in court-ordered DUI classes and are licensed to provide Level I and Level II education and therapy classes. We also offer classes for Relapse Prevention, Cognitive Skills, Victim Empathy, Chemical Dependency, Anger Management, and more.
What if I am required to do Level II 4+ classes or have had 4 or more DUIs?
We do not offer Level II 4+ classes which are required for anyone that has had 4 or more DUIs. You will need to go to an agency licensed for Level II 4+. If you complete any Level II classes with us and you find out later that you are required to do Level II 4+ classes, any completed Level II classes may not count towards your sentencing.
What if I got my DUI in Colorado but I live in a different state?
We are not currently licensed to provide DUI classes for residents outside of Colorado. You must have a Colorado residence to complete any DUI classes with us.
What if my DUI happened in another state (not Colorado)?
We cannot offer classes to those with out-of-state DUIs unless we have an Interstate Compact license, and we currently are not licensed to provide this. You will need to go to an agency that has a license for Interstate Compact, or complete classes in the state where you got your DUI.
What is the difference between Level I and Level II education?
Typically, Level I education is 4 hours once a week for 3 weeks for a total of 12 hours. Level II education is 2 hours once a week for 12 weeks, totaling 24 hours. Only one class is allowed per week per Colorado court and DMV regulations. A sentence order will say how many hours of education is required. Level II education classes will usually count towards Level I education, but Level I education does not count towards Level II education. Also, the DMV very rarely accepts Level I classes and will usually require Level II classes. The DMV and the courts can have different requirements from each other. Make sure you know your requirements for each.
Can I do my education and therapy classes at the same time?
Education and therapy classes cannot be taken at the same time. Education must be completed first, followed by therapy if both are required. Only one class can be completed per week for Level II education and therapy. Each Level II class consists of two hour sessions.
Are Level II classes in person or can they be done online?
We offer classes almost every day except Sunday, both in-person/telehealth hybrid classes and telehealth only classes. We try to keep our class schedules updated on our website, but for the most up to date information you should contact us directly.
